Nash Press was founded in Wellington in 2019 by a small group of press-gallery journalists who believed the country's politics deserved coverage that was rigorous, independent and free of spin. What began as a subscriber email has grown into a full newsroom reporting daily from the heart of government.
We are reader-funded and take no political donations. That independence is the whole point: our job is to explain how power is used in New Zealand — clearly, fairly, and in the public interest — and to answer only to the people who read us.
